The CRT Reference utilizes 2) ceramic 6.5" woofers in a traditional bass-reflex design while employing the awesome benefits of the latest hybrid ribbon from Bohzen Audio Lab.
The Transducers
Ceramic Aluminum Cone/Diaphragm material has been put through a ceramic anodizing process substantially stiffening the material surface, while also damping the harshness typically cause by over-stiffening a surface - Simply, proper Ceramic treatment removes driver coloration from the equation, allowing you to hear MORE of your music, and LESS of your speaker.
The Bohzen Tweeter
Ribbon tweeters by their nature have a very low moving mass and are quite articulate providing clarity, detail and evenness well outside of the human hearing spectrum, generating the breathe and airiness of what may lie hidden in your recordings.
The Bohzen tweeter being a hybrid design actually allows us to cross at a lower frequency, meaning we don't have to bring more complexities into the forefront by adding a dedicated midrange to the mix; making this system a dedicated 2-way performer.
The Truth
This is a very accurate, well nuanced set of speakers with a useful output to around 25hz, (depending on room) which often don't require a separate sub-woofer while offering impressive bass output. Because of their smooth roll-off, you can easily integrate a separate powered sub in larger rooms, or simply if more bass is desired.
This model utilizes the same series of woofer that we are using in our top of the line Zero Phase system.
